Earth Day Open: Deadline Approaches, Sunshine Rules

OK, time's a-wastin'... crawl out of your rain hovel and bask in the sunshine like we're supposed to do as Righteous & Upstanding Peninsulans. If you haven't entered Saturday's event, please sign up on the eTennisTeam site. I can fit a few more able bodies, especially on the men's side. If you haven't joined up for 2006 and want to play, or can't figure things out on the web or whatever the problem, contact me at: murphy.dennis@gmail.com or 650-365-5928. No reasonable offer refused.

Earth Day Open Coming Saturday April 22nd!

Earth Day is Saturday, April 22 and Arbor Day is a few days later, on April 25th. After a very soggy few weeks, it is time to get out and enjoy some sunshine and some tennis and maybe hug a tree.

We'll be playing Mixed Doubles with changing partners. Sign up at the eTennis site by editing your availability. Deadline in the end of Wednesday, the 19th. If you don't have an eTennis signup, it means you haven't joined for this year. Contact Annette at vernhardt@comcast.net or 650-349-1617 for details on how to get going.

The social event will be a bit different this month: an afternoon lunch out at a local eatery to be determined.

As a concession to the Earth Day mantra of "reduce, reuse, recycle," we will not have the usual courtside refreshments [unless somebody volunteers real quick], so bring yer own water and stuff.

Remember, there's an special Easter Open Play on Sunday.

Easter Open Play

In a bit of a scheduling quirk, we have reserved the courts at Shorebird for open play this Sunday, the 16th. It was the weekend before a tournament date, after all, but we forgot at the time just where Easter fell this year. But this can certainly be a good thing if [a] you can squeeze it in between Easter parading, [b] you don't celebrate Easter and [c] the weather cooperates. Drop on in and be sure to wear your best Spring bonnet.

It's Raining...Babies!

From the official press announcement: Colten Reed Danielson joined us on Sunday,March 19th at 3:29 PM PST. After 40+ plus hours of labor, the Dr's decided to do a C-section. He weighed in at 7.1 lbs and 18 inches long. Everyone is doing great, but we all are a little tired. We cannot wait to introduce Cole to you. In the meantime, if you would like to welcome Cole or share some words of wisdom, please email him at babycole@robdanielson.com
